Mood Boards

Creating a mood board is a a practice in svadhyaya, or self-study. Pulling inspiration and assembling it all together in one place gives me a chance to study my choices in color, texture, light, and composition. For me, it’s about more than just collecting images I love; it complies my feelings and my perspective on life. It tells a story—my story.

You can create your own mood board by tearing pages out of magazines, archiving photos on Instagram or in a special folder on your phone, or with a Pinterest board. The key is to have one place where you can see all of your chosen inspiration; it will help you identify a theme, a mood, and an intention for the season. This practice will offer you valuable insight into the lens through which you see your experience, your life, and yourself.
